The valuable whiskeys of Ardbeg are produced in one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, Ardbeg. Established in 1815 by Alexander Stewart, the brand is today a property of the stock company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton LVMH.
The Ardbeg distillery is located on the southeast coast of Islay Island. The island is rich in soft water, fertile soil and valuable peat. Ardbeg Whiskey is one of the most extreme whiskeys due to its high peat and smokiness. The high content of phenol content gives the whiskey a distinct note reminiscent of medicine. Particularly in demand are the older Ardbeg whiskeys, like the 10 or 30-year-old single malt.
