Eisch

Eisch is well-known in the glass manufacturing industry for offering high-quality articles made of fine glass, that acquire their unique character from excellent craftsmanship and design. For decades, sparkling crystal glass has been hand-painted with real gold and platinum at Eisch – a form of understated luxury that lends every space a hint of opulence. Eisch offers an array of products, from unusual tumblers, stylish carafes and jugs to elegant wine glasses, all of them invariably of high quality. The glass-making tradition of the Eisch Family has been traced back to Mathias Alesch, born in the Bohemian Forest in 1689 and listed among the employees of a small glassworks there.

Erwin Eisch was the pioneer and guiding spirit of the studio glass movement in Europe. He was an important source of inspiration and “lateral thinker”.Glashütte Eisch earned itself an excellent reputation among its customers. In the selection of preferred industrial partners by the German Glass and China Specialist Retail Association, Eisch has achieved first place seven times during the past ten years among all German glass manufacturers. In 1997 the Federal Chancellor of the time, Helmut Kohl, was a guest at Glashütte Eisch. Erwin Eisch presented him with the glass portrait head “Helmut Kohl”.Glashütte Eisch is still entirely owned by the family to this day. It is currently run by the third generation. Julia Eisch and Eberhard Eisch continue to build on the extensive experience and artisanal skills of the past and are now focusing on transforming the company into modern and innovative glassworks.

With its systematic brand strategy focusing on individuality and innovation, Glashütte Eisch is also successful in overseas markets. Today more than 50% of the total production is exported to over 60 countries worldwide.Since earliest times glass production has been characterised by a long tradition of craftsmanship, a high degree of technical expertise and artistic, creative skills. In the factory in Frauenau the glass is produced using highly skilled craft techniques in our own glass furnace. During guided tours through the factory everyone has an opportunity to experience yourself the creation of a glass product from smelting to the final finishing process.

Glashütte Eisch is No. 1 among German glass manufacturers! In the selection of preferred industrial partners by the German glass/china retailers, Eisch was awarded the highest marks among the eleven possible glass manufacturers, with an average mark of 2.02. The assessment covered the areas loyalty to specialist retailers, market development/margin, topicality of the product range, complaints behaviour and market importance. Since 1995 Glashütte Eisch has been awarded first place 15 times in the selection of partners by the German glass/china retailers. The results were presented during a ceremony at the Ambiente 2015 international specialist fair in Frankfurt am Main.
