Ercuis

Ercuis is a premium French silverware company founded in 1867 in the village of Ercuis, Oise region of France. The company Ercuis produces a range of luxury items from silver dishes and cutlery to jewelry and decorative objects.

The know-how is maintained by highly experienced goldsmiths, who perpetuate a traditional manufacturing process. Each piece of silverware is made up of a number of separately prepared elements, cut, stamped, laminated or stamped, embossed, turned, chiseled. At each stage, a craftsman (planer, turner, repousseur, goldsmith) is involved. The final piece is assembled by brazing with silver, soldering with tin. Then each piece is chiseled with great care. Once assembled, every item is polished and then silver plated by electrolysis.

By tracing the history of silverware down the centuries, Ercuis witnesses not only a proliferation of creativity and inventiveness, but also and above all the emergence and continuing tradition of tableware. Destined exclusively for the tables of a privileged few for many centuries and subject to the evolution of gourmet practices and the vagaries of fashion, silverware has slowly become inseparable from a certain French-style art de vivre. Ercuis plays an active role in perpetuating this tradition, while retaining close ties with the innovative and intersecting worlds of decorative arts and gastronomy.

Ercuis’s inhouse design department conceives, creates and produces bespoke pieces adapted to the specific needs or fancies of its clients. A large number of projects are the result of special requests from the world of haute cuisine: for example, table accessories for the Shangri-la Hotel in Paris, a tiered tray for the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco, or a caviar service for room-service at the Royal Monceau Raffles in Paris.

Ercuis' designers also work on requests from a very demanding private clientele looking for unique pieces specifically designed for their interior. Whether for a palace, a yacht or a private jet, each request feeds the imagination of Ercuis designers, who strive to fashion the best response to the specific requests that are put to them.
