Sieger by Theresienthal

At the crystal glass factory Theresienthal, the extraordinary designs of SIEGER are realized in a unique quality and perfection. The mouth-blown, ultra-thin glasses contrast with classic and exciting new forms with a special ornamentation and color. Each glass is unique, each decor is honed or engraved in precise workmanship by hand. No matter how archaic as the production may sometimes seem, the end result is anyway timeless: cups with delicate or refreshingly rich colors, rich stemmed glasses and slender decanters.

The inspiring Harkotten Castle is the home of SIEGER and head office of the agency sieger design, which has created many iconic table- and homeware objects. The multifaceted family company can look back on decades of design experience and interdisciplinary skill. After and alongside successful agency projects, in 2005 Christian and Michael Sieger decided to launch their own premium brand.

Two brothers, one brand. The name SIEGER is no marketing idea. Behind it are Michael and Christian Sieger, two people who are linked by both professional and family ties. How does their partnership work? They complement each other perfectly, with each one playing an indispensable part.

For their brand, the brothers only collaborate with partners who share their high-quality standards and cultural awareness. For example, the unique glass collections are produced in close partnership with glass factory Theresienthal, in whose studios every single one of the beautiful pieces is made by hand. The exceptional collections are now used in private apartments, yachts, luxury restaurants and five-star hotels.

Glassblowers, cutters, engravers, painters and other craftsmen have been working in Theresienthal since 1836. These craftsmen have accumulated the skill and experience that is essential for the making of exclusive crystal ware. Many of these craftsmen have worked in Theresienthal for decades and are sometimes the fourth or fifth generation of artisans. Theresienthal has always relied exclusively on its own craftsmen and every single item is hand-made. The process starts with the creation of a wooden mould. This is carried out by a master wood-turner. The liquid glass is blown into this mould to form the cup. A strand of moulten glass is then formed into the stem which is attached to the cup before the stem solidifies. Using a similar method, some glasses are further adorned with ornaments similarly made by hand. The glasses are then cut, engraved or painted, depending on the design and finally hand-polished. All these steps are done exclusively at Theresienthal site in Bavaria, meaning that Theresienthal has full control of the entire manufacturing process. This way Sieger bei Theresienthal can guaranty the quality and timely delivery.
