Sonja Quandt

In 1860, Johann Stanislaus Nepomuk Kühn, a goldsmith from Vienna, founded a silversmith manufacture in the heart of the old Staufercity Schwäbisch Gmünd. 1886 - about 26 Years later, his sons Emil and Gustav took over the manufacture and gave the company the name Gebrüder Kühn. Fast the business became a flourishing company which products had the typical unicorn hallmark - the heraldic animal from Schwäbisch Gmünd.

In 1984, Sonja Quandt became owner of the silver workshop and moved the company in the city quarter named Strassdorf. Since then, silver goods are produced with its own understanding of luxury for the whole world.
Since 1860, the worldwide honored silver forge is a symbol for extraordinary creations in the highest quality. Since over 150 years, the manufacture writes its history with fancy, extravagant objects which turn to real classics. Inspired by the different historical eras, over time a sophisticated and unique silver collection was formed. Due to the inventive teamwork between the silversmiths and Sonja Quandt, unique and masterly silverworks of art are created.
Next to the successful collections of Sonja Quandt a lot of custom-made designs are created along our customer wishes. The results are unique pieces in the sense of handmade tradition - manufactured in the workshop of one of the oldest silver manufactures of Europe.

The most successful collections are:

Art Nouveau - gentle curving lines are the expression of a strong reduced Art Nouveau. The fine facets of the knife handle and the stylish edge are the evidence of masterly art of silversmiths.

Deco Style- the felicitous bond between the elegant form with the preciosity of silver stands for a classy severity of Art Deco.

Palmette - ornaments in form of conventionalized palm leaves bring back the times of Napoleon. Luxury beauty in perfection of craftsmanship.

Vendome- the “Place Vendôme“ is one of the royal squares of Paris. The French “savoir-vivre” shown in gorgeous details.

Spaten- a vintage form of the 18th century which has not lost any of its popularity until today. The “Ears” and “Shoulders” are fond details which are in vogue in connoisseur circles.
