Since 1978, Hector Saxe has been a games designer. He has been creating unique, highly-designed pieces made of noble materials for forty years. Maison Daum selected Hector Saxe for its excellence and the quality of its work, ots attention to detail, and its wide selection of luxury materials. The choice was made to use an orange leather case, which is the color of the Daum brand, with a large-sized chessboard made of handcrafted leather marquetry, combining orange and navy blue.

The large board (61 cm x 59 cm) offers meticulous finishes, with tone-on-tone stitching and gold-plated bronze handles that make it a remarkable decorative piece.

Each piece of the game has been hand-sculpted by the talented craftsmen of the manufacturer, taking inspiration from the world of horses, emblematic of the Maison, and the details of the Cavalcade collection: wild horses galloping in the foaming waves. The king and queen, beautiful pieces standing at 11 cm tall, are adorned with gold: their finely sculpted crowns are delicately enhanced with gold leaf. The rooks are inspired by the motifs of waves and foam. The bishops become wild horses, neighing and having their head raised. The pawns, standing at 6cm high, are represented by small horses. Dimensions of the pieces: between 6 and 11 centimeters. The pieces are arranged in a set underneath the game board and are revealed under an elegant leather leaf. Placed in beige foam, each slot has been custom-made to ensure a perfect fit for the pieces.
