Today we have a great opportunity to have an interview with the outstanding person who combines being a well-known successful jewelry designer and the wife of Mr. Giovanni Ferraris - Mrs. Katia Olivucci.

Mrs. Olivucci, many thanks for finding a gap in your precious time for the interview!

What would the closest people in your life say if we asked them, 'What are the three characteristics that they totally dig about you, and the three that drive them insane?

If you ask to my kids they will tell you that I need to keep everything under control, I am very uncompromising and, at the same time, the classic Italian mother who, even if they are almost adults, calls them "my children".

If you ask my husband he will tell you the 3 characteristics that make him crazy: too energetic (he is calm and quiet), too chatty (He does not talk much), too dreamer (He is Grounding)

In the interview given to the Italian edition of “INMAGAZINE” you mentioned you left Damiani factory to help your husband and that decision allowed to combine your both skills and to aim high. There is a saying “Behind every successful man there is a woman”. Could you comment on this saying? Is it true?

Hahahaha !!!! Of course it is true, indeed very true ... But I recommend, do not let my husband know that I am nothing without him.

Who supports you in the further development of Ferraris Gioielli Srl and whose opinion are of the most value?

My husband and me  we have a great  complicity, I support him and he supports me, there is no model that I realize without having his opinion and there is no choice that he takes without asking my opinion.

Could you tell us about a time when you almost gave up, how you felt about that, and what you did instead of giving up?

Five years ago I made some simple, anonymous collections, thinking they were easier to sell and wear . I made a mistake and the customers told me: - this style is not Giovanni Ferraris, this kind of jewels can be find everywhere. I felt guilty towards all my collaborators who support us with such dedication and for them I have taken over the situation understanding that I have to draw and create what I like without being influenced by the market.

You designed a pair of titanium earrings with diamonds and sapphires that received the Couture Design Award in high jewellery fair in Las Vegas. What is your superpower and what is your secret of your success?

I must be honest, the crisis period has given me more charge to go on and demonstrate our skills.

The secret? Very simple answer: to dream.

The superpower? One more very simple answer: having a husband who encourages you and who has great technical knowledge.

In this way titanium and diamond earrings (Award 2015) and titanium diamonds and sapphires (Award 2017) were born

And I do not tell you what beautiful jewels I'm preparing for the next year!!!!

How long does it take you to create a new product, from the very beginning until the production stage?

It depends on the type of product and material I decide to use. If they are Gold Jewels, it could take from 20 to 30 days. For the Twist collection, created with the aid of biomedical titanium, it took 8 months because we tested the product before putting it on the market.

We assume you travel all around the world to visit Jewelry Shows and just for vacations with your family. What other cultures impress and influence you and why?

I try to learn from every culture I meet.

Where do you see Ferraris Gioielli Srl in ten years´time?

I hope to be, as now, with my small company inserted in a niche market, where the quality and the design of the product are recognized.

Mrs. Olivucci, what would you like to suggest and to wish the clients of luxury jewelry sector and to the clients of BREGNER Luxury & Lifestyle in particular? 

To be unique. Jewels are not a simple t-shirt that you can change easily so I wish that the ones who wear Jewels could choose something that makes them feel themselves, unique, and not the same as everyone else. Let’s think what a sadness if, during a gala dinner, all the women should wear the same ring, noooo ....
