"When I created L'Oeuvre noire, I had an almost Faustian atmosphere. I wanted to cast a spell, following the example of those spells that darken Rimbaud's mind or conjure up the witches in Macbeth. At the same time, I thought of contemporary R'n'B music, listened to the lyrics of 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, or Pharell Williams, all of whom, despite Baudelaire's lyrical prose, everyone was talking about temptation, despite the ubiquitous urban violence. "

Kilian Hennessy

You can imagine Kilian well in the rooms of Faust's workshop while conjuring the "spirits of the perfumes", in search of a subtle, perfect harmony that will inspire us. Striving for the absolute, the intoxication, the life and the human being in all aspects. The eternal reverberation of the poètes of the Maudits, the embarrassed poets. Also Dorian Gray, another soul-mate, looks down from his portrait while the sound of Snoop Dogg's "Hennessy & Buddha" seems to reach nirvana.

"Some people are guided by music. For me, it's the scents that inspire my soul. "

Petits poèmes en Prose, Baudelaire

"A lot of sensory impressions come from this bottle. Matt and shiny. Soft and rough. Black and transparent. Hot and cold. It seems as if the side-engraved protective shield put me under the care of a fallen angel. In search of my own identity, I find myself in a name. The monogram, the "K", reminds of his black masterpiece, my secret accomplices. This object is my personal talisman. "The bottle from the point of view of an innocent.

Biographie

As the legacy of a long-standing lineage of cognac manufacturers, pioneers in luxury, Kilian, grandson of the founder of the LVMH Group, decided to continue the family tradition with luxury products. The introduction of its new luxury brand was indisputably a challenge that should honor its ancestors. Only superlative products could be considered for this company!

As a child, Kilian spent a lot of time in the cellars of the family in Cognac. For his degree at CELSA, the College of Information and Communication Science at the Sorbonne, he wrote a work on the semantics of smells, a language familiar to both gods and mortals. In the course of his research on "part des anges", he discovered the world of perfumes. "The percentage of angels" in the Hennessy family is called the percentage which inexplicably escapes from the barrels like a gift to the gods. One can imagine how the angels steal a small moment to taste of these exhilarating, forbidden fragrances! The aroma of alcoholic sugar and the wood of the Cognac barrels are therefore a recurring characteristic of the fragrances of Kilian.

After completing a university education in the field of communication and linguistics, Kilian studied the perfumes of the most prestigious noses in the industry: Alberto Morillas, Jacques Cavallier, Thierry Wasseur and Calice Becker in particular. He decided to continue his marketing career, a choice that naturally linked his diverse interests. He also worked for such prestigious dufthouses as Dior, Paco Rabanne, Alexander McQueen and Giorgio Armani.

However, despite a successful and multi-faceted career in marketing, Kilian's need was stronger to pursue his first love, the creation. His love for fragrances was pure, overbearing, and ardent, and he had to yield to this passion with skin and hair. So he decided to launch his own brand. It should be a mirror of its personality and the perfect connection between elegance and the highest, unrestricted luxury.
