Description
Figurative porcelain has played a significant role throughout the history of KPM Berlin. The Berlin manufactory’s sculptures artfully illustrate nature. A clever play of light and shade, and naturalistic decoration make them appear unusually lifelike. The numerous figurines continue to include designs from the manufactory’s early days, such as the bright blue and turquoise kingfisher by Johann Baptiste Pedrozzi from 1765.
