Today we have an amazing chance to interview the founder of the Italian luxury brand CASATO, which creates highly exclusive and impressive jewelery, Mr. Federico Gauttieri.

Mr. Gauttieri, what made you choose the world of jewelry and what inspired you most about it?

It happened long time ago, together with a couple of friends who I left quite quickly along the way. I remained the only one from this association of three, most likely because I was the only one really involved, with love and passion. I started design and making sculptures since I was a little kid. I was designing and painting everything around me. So when I met with stones and jewelry it’s been a love at first sight.

What were the biggest challenges you faced when you founded CASATO in 2004, and how did you overcome them?

To create a brand is a great challenge for everyone. The more you do, the more you understand how much you still need to do. It’s a never ending process. In the beginning, you have a little bit of freedom but after that, you create expectations in the people around you, so the combination of these 2 elements is a real great motivation and give you the excitement you need to do everything you have to do,

You are known as a gemologist, a lover of Renaissance art and an explorer of beauty. Could you tell us more about the beauty? Is it a kind of hobby combined with profession?

You know, the idea of beauty it’s different in any of us. My idea of beauty it’s coming from the connection between my brain and my heart and I see everything through this filter. It’s quite instinctive. The beauty for me is the harmony between the elements, combined with the pleasure of a view that you never get tired of. Beauty it’s renovating every day and gives me different feelings. I need these feelings same as I need breathing

How does CASATO stand out in the tough competition of world-famous jewelry brands? What makes customers prefer CASATO?

Casato despite of the size of the company, gave a lot to the world of jewelry as you know it today. Probably because my background is different ( I am not coming from a family of jewelers. I was supposed to be a lawyer), I have always designed jewelry in an unconventional way. I think this is our DNA and the most important reason why our customers are in love with what we do. They can see the innovation, the attention to details and the natural wearability of our creations.

Why do you think people all over the world love jewelry designed and made in Italy? What is the mystery about it?

The more I travel the more I see the difference in things that we as Italians living in Italy we give for granted. Italians are not just “nice people”. They love intensely what they do and they put all themselves to improve what they do every single day, raising the bar constantly. Italy is the country of the bio diversities, and Italians are blessed to live in a country like this, so they reflex in what they do the diversity of the country. Italians they are not just happy to live. They love to live right, and they are master in everything they do, from artisanry, to hostelries, to industry and much more.

Who are the women you design jewelry for?

Casato women is a feminine woman, with an high perception of beauty and refinement. It’s a woman with personality who love to show herself with discretion and intensity at the same time. A woman who never goes unnoticed and love to wear jewelry to make her look more beautiful

Whose opinions and suggestions play a vital role for you? How closely are you linked to your team?

My team it’s important to me same as I am to them. I believe that an entrepreneur need to be fair to his employees and treat them humanly, in the good and in the bad time. My employees they respect my sincerity because they understand that is genuine and free of prejudgments. Balance and fairness are the most important beliefs to me

How do you see CASATO and yourself in 20 years?

This is hard to say. I think everyone would love to have a clear picture of its own future. I can tell what I am doing, and if this will lead me where I’d love to be that is fair enough to me. I am trying to grow my idea of jewelry and to create the right environment for our customers, who are women, and as far as I ca do it I am happy to achieve all the recognitions will come with it.

What would you like to suggest to clients of the luxury jewelry industry and in particular to the clients of BREGNER Luxury & Lifestyle?

I would tell them to live the luxury every day, as a natural thing and not as something they deserve only once in a while. Be naturally elegant and never stop looking for the best. “may good taste be with you always!”

Mr. Gauttieri, thank you very much for the interview! We wish you and CASATO much success for the future and a lot of encouragement and diversity!
