Description
Max Esser (1885-1945) is one of the leading animal sculptors and plastic artists of the early 20th century. His most famous figurines include his "Seagull" diving down towards a frothy ocean wave. The original model of the bird was produced in pure white porcelain with a glaze and now sees it decorated in colours for the first time ever. Kerstin Laschinski very effectively harnesses the energy that resides in Esser's work. A single wing conjures up a sense of a whole flock of birds.
